It doesn’t matter if I’m making a weeknight meal for two, hosting a crowd, or preparing a holiday feast, hands-free Crock Pot cooking makes my life so much easier. Out of all of the kitchen tools that I own, my slow cooker is, without a doubt, the one I reach for most often.

Slow Cooker recipes are ideal for when life gets busy. Cooking in the Crock Pot allows me to prep a meal in the morning, leave the house to work or run errands, and then return to a delicious home-cooked meal. As a bonus, there’s next to no cleanup involved with these recipes!

What Are The Benefits Of A Slow Cooker?

The Crock Pot is beneficial for many reasons. It’s a meal planner’s best friend since you can set it and forget it. It’s also great to use for holidays when the oven is full, and you need extra cooking help. Plus, when I entertain, it keeps food warm and makes it perfect for folks to serve themselves.

And if those reasons are not enough, slow cooking is also one of the best ways to transform an inexpensive piece of meat into a budget-friendly showstopper since the cooking process imparts so much flavor.

Which Crock Pot Should I Use?

Choosing a Slow Cooker doesn’t need to be a chore because there are so many great options. Ultimately, the one you choose will depend on what you need it for. Here are a couple of my favorite slow cookers and examples of when to use them:

  • 1.5-quart Crock Pot – It may be small, but this slow cooker is ideal for entertaining. This is an excellent investment if you’re a warm dips fan.
  • 3.5-quart Casserole Crock Pot – This is perfect for side dishes such as green beans or dips like queso.
  • 4-quart Programmable Crock Pot – Anytime you feed a group of 4-8 people, this will be your go-to family-sized Crock Pot.
  • 8-quart Programmable Crock Pot – If you’re cooking more significant pieces of meat, such as pork ribs and chicken thighs, or feeding a crowd, this is the Crock Pot for you.
  • 8-quart Traveling Slow Cooker – This is a perfect choice if you’re a fan of camping, traveling, or tailgating.
